FalL BenefiT Concert

What Is It?

We organized a Benefit Concert that raised $2,384 toward an underfunded, low-income school orchestra program in Oklahoma.

The members of Live Life Music realize we have been provided with financial and economic advantages and opportunities that aren't available everywhere in Oklahoma. That's why we want to use our advantages to help lift up people from under-represented areas, particularly regarding their fine arts education.

Fine Arts education (such as orchestra, band, or choir, etc.) is often neglected and under-funded by poorer school districts because the subject is less prioritized than technical subjects like reading and math, meaning that these kids are missing out on the full experience of a vital and essential aspect of their education. For example, multiple orchestra students in poorer schools often have to share instruments with their classmates because they can't afford to buy their own. This means that they won't be able to take their instruments home and practice, a key part of the full music/fine-arts experience.

Through this Benefit Concert, we aimed to help those kids and provide them with the means necessary to have the full orchestra experience. Even if we're just local students, we believe that we do have the ability to make that difference in our society.
